Wanda Smyth Carroll, 79, of Bend Road in Waco, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. Wanda was born on July 8, 1932 at College Hill, Kentucky, and was the daughter of Wayne and Nancy Walden Smyth, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a masters degree in education, and retired from the Cabinet of Families and Children Community Based Services. Wanda was a member of Flatwoods Christian Church, and enjoyed reading, farming, and helping others.
Survivors include: two sons, Charles Wayne Carroll (Cathy), of Versailles, Kentucky, and James Patrick Carroll (Debra), of Nashville, Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Patrick Ian Carroll, Elizabeth Carroll, and Taylor Harrison Carroll.
