Both attended Scott High School and worked at the Westinghouse Electric Corp., East Pittsburgh. James was employed as a machinist and Thomas, as a punch press operator.
DIED IN PHILIPPINES
Sgt. James Brown was killed in action on Leyte Nov. 12, 1944. He was 29. He entered the service July 9, 1941 and was stationed at Aberdeen, Md., before going overseas with the 498th Bomb Squadron, 345 Bomb Group, known as the Falcons.
Pvt. Thomas Brown died on Luzon March 27, 1945, at the age of 23. He served with the Medical Det., 511 Parachute Inf.
PARENTS SURVIVE
They are survived by their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Brown of Nurnath Rd., Braddock Hills; one sister, Mrs. Eileen Barnes, and two brothers, John E. and Edward W. Brown, all of Braddock Hills. Pvt. Thomas leaves also his widow, Mrs. Mary Costello Brown.
Friends are being received at the Knee Funeral Home, 512 Rebecca St., Wilkinsburg. Requiem high mass will be sung Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Brendan's Church, Braddock.
