Craig W. Brooks
---Craig Wright "Bud" Brooks, 71, former president of Brooks Appliance Company of Marshall, died at Marshall Manor Sunday, Sept. 19, 1988 after a lengthy illness.
---Mr. Brooks was born Dec. 29, 1912 in Marshall to Harold C. and Gladys J. (Wright) Brooks. He was a lifelong resident of Marshall. Mr. Brooks graduated from Culver Military Academy in 1931 and then attended the University of Chicago. He then returned to the family business to work with his father as president of Brooks Appliance Company, where he served until his retirement.
---Mr. Brooks married the former Isabel Minne on January 1, 1934. She preceded him in death on November 25, 1971.
---Mr. Brooks was active in the Boy Scouts of America for 50 years, first as a troop member and then serving as a leader of Trinity Boy Scout Troop for 25 years. He received the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America to recognize his dedication to the scouting movement. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he had served on the vestry and various church committees, and been a member of the choir. Mr. Brooks was a long-time member of the Marshall Civic Theatre, appearing in many productions over the years.
