Obituary
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 7, 2011 at a 1:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church for Joseph "C.J." Savoie, age 83, who passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 at his residence in Carencro.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Mark Ledoux, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Angela Comeaux, his niece, accompanied by Marc Conques. The songs will be On Eagles Wings, Shepherd Me Oh Lord, You Are Mine, I am The Bread of Life and Song of Farewell.
Readings were done by his granddaughter, Lacyea S. Guilbeaux and his granddaughter by heart, Katie Burns.
Gifts were taken up by his granddaughter Hope S. Credeur and his grandaughter in law, Candace S. Forrestier.

Mr. Savoie was a native of Church Point and a resident of Carencro for over fifty years. He owned and operated Savoie's Oilfield Connection Crew Company from 1982 to 1996. Mr. Savoie was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Savoie and his wife, Kathi, of Houston, TX and Karl Savoie of Carencro; two daughters, Kathy S. Savoie and her husband, J.R. Touchet and Karen Forrestier and her husband, Ricky, all of Carencro; one sister, Gloria T. Comeaux and her husband, Harold, of Lafayette; ten grandchildren, Mitch Savoie and his Fiancèe, Katie, Travis Savoie and his Fiancèe, Sarah Marks, Blake Forrestier and his wife, Candace, Lacyea S. Guillbeaux and her husband, Bennit, Hope S. Credeur and her husband, David, Dillion Forrestier, Dustin Forrestier and his Fiancèe, Paige, Evan Savoie, Keaton Savoie and Elliot Savoie; ten great grandchildren, Jeston Savoie, Hunter Guilbeaux, Kain Savoie, Presley Forrestier, Lane Guilbeaux, Cheyenne Palmer, Jeremiah Forrestier, Brylon Forrestier, Bentley Forrestier and Alice Belleau; he was the godfather of Norma Richard and Terry Comeaux.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Beanna Trahan; his parents, Clarville Savoie and the former Julia Leger; one brother, Essay Savoie and one sister, Agnes Savoie Miller.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with sister in law, Liz Trahan, and nieces Johnna TrahanDomingue and Angela Trahan Comeaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM on Thursday, October 6, 2011 and will continue from 8:00 AM until service time on Friday October 7, 2011.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heart of Hospice, especially Theristen Chretien "T", his nurse.

Pallbearers will be Mitch Savoie, Travis Savoie, Blake Forrestier, Dillon Forrestier, Dustin Forrestier and Bennit Guilbeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be David Credeur, Jeston Savoie, Keaton Savoie, Elliot Savoie & Evan Savoie.

Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
