Ora Mae Ackerman, 96, went to her heavenly home July 26, 2005, at Beverly Healthcare, Meyersdale. Born Sept. 19, 1908, in Salisbury, a daughter of the late Henry and Ella (Hahn) Schramn. Preceded in death by husband Simon Ackerman Sr., twin daughters, granddaughters; Brenda Hutchinson and Cindy Hutchinson Walker, sisters; Esther Brown and Edna Werner, brothers; George and William Schramn. Survived by children; Ila Keith Ellwood City, Simon Ackerman Jr., Mildred Deem, Linda Bowman, Charles Ackerman, Ron Ackerman all of Meyersdale, Ellen Nightengale, Somerset, Peggy Reynolds, Stoystown, and Don Ackerman, W.Va. Also survived by sister Ruth Kinsinger, Salisbury, 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren. Member of Main St. Brethren Church, Meyersdale. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home, where the service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Bob Stahl officiating. Interment in the Union Cemetery, Meyersdale. Ora was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all.
