Native Diver Monument - A 20 foot long monumnet in the Garden Paddock that marks the burial place of Native Diver-the only three time winner of the Gold Cup Race and California's first winner of $1 million dollars. The ceramic tile monument was designed and painted by Millard Sheets and depicts Native Diver's successive Gold Cup triumphs from 1965-67. The monument was erected after the sudden death of the horse in 1967 and was dedicated on April 11, 1969.
