Lois Arlene Anderson, daughter of Leo and Pearl (Hesse) Miller, was born January 14, 1941 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Lois was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. She grew up and received her education in the Sauk Centre area until moving with her family to West Port, Minnesota in 1959. Shortly thereafter, she moved to the Twin Cities where she worked as a nanny and for Kapplan Box Company.

On May 18, 1963, Lois was united in marriage to Lyle Jerome Anderson of Starbuck at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, Lois and Lyle lived on a farm north of Cyrus, farmed with Lyle's parents, and raised their daughter Nancy. During their marriage, Lois worked outside of the home for Fingerhut Corporation in Benson, Roart in Morris, and the Villa of St. Francis in Morris. On February 2, 2006 Lois retired after 28 years of service at the, now named, West Wind Village where she had worked as a housekeeper and laundry aide.

Lois enjoyed many hobbies including cooking; baking; fishing; playing bingo; watching her favorite soap opera, Days of Our Lives; completing word puzzles; socializing and visiting with neighbors, friends, and those confined due to health reasons; but her favorite hobby was travelling. Lois, who was a long-time member of the Lois Club, went on her first Lois Convention in January 1995 to Las Vegas, NV and over the years had traveled to many states including visits to Little Rock, AR; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Orlando, FL; Boise, ID; Des Moines, IA; Branson, MO; New York, NY; Fargo, ND; Seattle, WA; Green Bay, WI; and San Juan in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Lois died on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, having lived to reach the age of 70 years.

She is survived by her husband: Lyle Anderson of Cyrus; daughter: Nancy (Jeff) Miller of Morris; sisters: LaVonne ("Bonnie") (Jim) Dickinson of Starbuck; Muriel Karrow of Alexandria; brother: Ken Miller of Alexandria; brother-in-law Howard Anderson; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Wayne and Brenda Skare and Roger and Eileen Sachs and families. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Darlene Upton; and brothers: David Miller and Glenn Miller.

Pallbearers for the service are: Wayne Skare, Donny Eblen, Dean Eblen, Joe Hesse, Skip Hesse and Doug Dickinson. All those who called Lois "Friend" will serve as honorary pallbearers. Dee Syverson will serve as organist for the service, with Sheryle Dahl serving as soloist.
