Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wants me now, He's set me free.

The Fallen Limb
A limb has fallen
from the family tree
I keep hearing a voice that says,
"Grieve not for me"
Remember the best times,
the laughter, the song
The good life I lived
while I was strong
Continue my heritage,
I'm counting on you
Keep smiling and surely
the sun will shine through
My mind is at ease,
my soul at rest
Remembering all,
how I truly was blessed
Continue traditions,
no matter how small
Go on with your life,
don't worry about falls
I miss you dearly,
so keep up your chin
Until the days comes
we're together again

Softly the leaves of memory fall
Gently I gather and treasure them all
Unseen, unheard you are always near
So missed, so loved, so very dear
No longer in our lives to share
But in our hearts you're always there

Always a silent hurt
many a silent tear
but always a beautiful memory
of one we love so dear
God gave us strength to bear it
and courage to take the blow
but what it meant to lose you
no one will ever know.

God called your name so softly
That only you could hear
And no one heard the footsteps
Of Angels drawing near
The Golden Gates stood open
God saw you needed rest
His garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best

On August 27, 2011, my sister Cricket went swimming in the lake at Anderson Ranch Dam. She ended up drowning. Death can take her from us, it can't take her memory or the love we have for her. We'll all be reunited again some day!
Memories
I never thought we'd say goodbye
on the day you went away
I folded my hands in front of me
and I began to pray
I asked that God not take you home
said I needed you with me
I begged Him for more time with you
but it was not meant to be
When he took you home to be with Him
my world was changed forever
Yet I know I will never let you go
in my heart we're still together
The tears I cried both day and night
each one was just for you
With all that you still mean to me
each drop holds something true
Each tear brought back a memory
of times we had to share
Memories of you will last a lifetime
'til the day I join you there
