Civil War Veteran. Benjamin Bickford enlisted in Company E, 11th Regiment, New Hampshire Volunteers on August 15, 1862. He saw action at the Battle of Fredericksburg and transferred to Veterans Reserve Corps on January 15, 1864 where he guarded Rebel Prisoners at Indianapolis, Indiana. Benjamin Bickford was discharged form the Union Army on June 30, 1865. He and his wife returned to Epsom where they lived there lives. Benjamin died at the Veterans Home in Tilton New Hampshire, he was 97.
