Henry Bolen was born December 25, 1782 (the date found on papers in an old family Bible), or December 25, 1784 (the date from his tombstone giving his death as July 17, 1864 age 79 years, 6 months and 22 days). (http://logan.ohiogenealogy.info/index.php?title=East_Liberty_Cemetery_-_Inscriptions) Henry Bolen was married on January 19, 1809, in Ross County, Ohio, to Margaret McCrary.
Henry and Margaret (McCrary) Bolen had ten children as follows:

1. Nelson Bolen was born January 7, 1810, in Ohio (Per his 1860 Census Record).
2. Martha "Patty" Bolen was born April 20, 1811 in Ohio.
3. Sarah "Sally" Bolen born January 22, 1813 in Ohio.
4. Jannett (called "Jane" or "Jayne") Bolen was born March 27, 1814.
5. Alexander Z. Bolen was born September 23, 1815.
6. Henry Bolen was born June 8, 1817 in Lawrence County, Ohio.
7. John Bolen was born August 14, 1819 in Lawrence County, Ohio.
8. Margaret Bolen was born October 12 or 13, 1821, in Lawrence County, Ohio.
9. Mary "Polly" Bolen was born September 23, 1823.
10. Joseph Bolen was born January 25, 1826 in Lawrence County, Ohio. (57)

Henry Bolen died July 17, 1864, in Union County, Ohio. The date of death is from his tombstone and not from civil records because death records did not begin in Ohio until 1867. Henry was buried next to his wife Margaret (McCrary) Bolen in an "old cemetery located in Perry Township, Logan County, Ohio, between East Liberty, Ohio, and the North Greenfield Cemetery; south of the North Greenfield Cemetery on Highway 292, over a narrow bridge and creek and up on a rise on the east side of Highway 292. At one time there was an iron picket fence around the cemetery but this fence has been taken down and the livestock can now wander through the cemetery. No stones are standing, except a few footstones." (11) This cemetery was once known as the United Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery. Now it is called by some the Akey Cemetery. The cemetery is in Perry Township, Logan County, Ohio in the Virginia Military Survey 5091, containing 0.68 acres. The land for the cemetery was deeded from Charles Shim to the Trustees, United Brethren in Christ Church on September 18, 1852. The land transaction is recorded in Deed Book Volume Y, page 66. The cemetery is now (1985) used by farmer Ralph T. Akey.
During the summer of 1984, we (Todd Bolen and my sister Lois (Bolen) Stange) located the field where Henry and Margaret (McCrary) Bolen were buried. We found their two stones buried in mud. Henry's stone was broken into three parts. The following summer we had the stone repaired at a tombstone store in Bellefontaine, Ohio. We purchased a cemetery lot (2rd row in from CR 10) next to Alexander Bolen's burial site in the old original southeast section of the East Liberty, Ohio cemetery and had the two markers placed there.
