Ruston LA Daily Leader, Friday, March 3, 1933:
The passing of Mrs. R. F. Brooks has left a weight of sadness in the hearts of her friends in this and other towns of north Louisiana, where her name will always be a pleasant memory. As a resident of Ruston at intervals for a long number of years, Mrs. Brooks' beautiful devotion to her family and friends and to her church and its auxiliaries has left a halo around the beautiful service which was hers throughout her quiet though ever active life.

BROOKS RITES TO BE FRIDAY
Mother of R. H. Brooks Succumbs In Monroe This Morning
Funeral services for Mrs. R. F. Brooks, aged 75, who succumbed in a Monroe Clinic at 6 o'clock this morning will be held in the home of her son, R. H. Brooks, of Ruston at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon with the Rev. W. J. Bolin, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating.
She is survived by four children: R. H. Brooks of Ruston; W. E. Brooks of Oklahoma; C. P. Brooks of Pennsylvania; and W. H. Brooks of Pine Bluff, Ark.
Active pallbearers will be: Chas. C. Goyne, Ardis Marbury, Booles Breed, L. M. Feazel, M. J. Brothers, N. McDonald, R. G. Null and A. E. Stinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be the doctors of Ruston.
Interment will be made at the Shiloh Cemetery with B. F. McLure and Co. funeral directors in charge.
