Rites for William Neal Held Thursday
Funeral Services for William A. Neal,70, a Former Tularean, and Veteran San Joaquin peace officer, were held Thursday in Springville.
Neal, who had retired on last December as Kern Co Deputy sheriff after serving 14 years in the force, died Monday while on a fishing trip on the Tule River above Springvile.
Born in Texas, he spent his early youth in Washington and Oregan, later becomming a peace officer in eastern Oregan.
On coming to Springbille, he was associated with his father in a general mercantile and acted as assistant postmaster there.
He was marred Katherine Gulley a member of a Pioneer Tulare family, in 1911.
Survivers enclued he wife and three sisters. Mrs. Neal is a sister to J. M. Setlif, and an aunt to Loretta Nicholson. Both of Tulare
