She was a lifelong resident of Dunbar and a lifelong member of Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle. Her greatest pleasure was singing for the Lord. In addition to her participation in Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle Church, she also sang with the Dunbar Senior Choir.
When she was younger you could find her singing and picking her guitar in trios, duets and solo. In the 1950s and '60s, she sang on the Sleepy Jeffers Program as well as on WTIP and other broadcasts. Bonnie was retired from Fletcher Enamel Company and Staats Hospital.
