Join us in celebrating our beloved mother and grandmother.

Gwen, a life-long resident of Modesto, was a loving and caring person. She valued her family and friends and looked forward to time spent with them.

Gwen is survived by her brother, Ronald Smith. She will be missed by her daughter, Gemma Carter. Gwen was cherished by her grandchildren: Paul, Jason, Joseph, Landon, Randon, Melissa, Brenda, and Ryan. She adored her 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Gwen had a passion for life and a strong independent personality. She loved being involved in community organizations and was active in Seniors, Modesto Dollers, Avon and Campbell Soup clubs.

A Celebration of life service is to be held at 10 am on September 20th at Salas Brothers Funeral Home on Scenic Drive.

Gwen was inspired by her end of life care from the Hospice nurses and social workers. She asked, in lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to:
