Ricardo Chavez, age 82, passed away on March 3, 2001, surrounded by his loving family.
Ricardo was born in Martinez Town and lived most of his life in Cañon de Jemez, NM.
Ricardo is survived by his children, Margie Chávez and Victor, Mary Jane Blake and her husband, Daniel, Helen Capps and her husband, Terry, Eugene Chávez, Veronica Encenias and her husband, Joe, Reina Velásquez and her husband, Ignacio, Dolores Moore and Roy, Richard Chávez Jr. and Lorraine and Alvin Chávez, 25 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, mother-in-law, Ramoncita Montoya, brothers-in-law, Richard Montoya and Manuel Montoya, sisters-in-law, Virginia Gonzáles, Rosie Padilla and Yvonne Zamora and several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who loved and will miss him.
A Rosary will be recited at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, on 4th and Alameda in Albuquerque, on Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cañon, NM on Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. with burial following at Cañon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Valentino Chávez, Daniel Jr. Blake, Hubert "Hubie" Dhal, Jerome Encenias, Ruben Moore and Orlando "RJ"Chávez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Victor Alamos Granillo, Florencio Sandoval, Eugene "Gino" Chávez and Manuel Montoya.
