Pat was born in Lexington, Virginia, the fourth of five children born to Frances and Robert McKee Lackey Sr. She married Paul Andrew Folwell II, on 28 May 1955, in Newport News, Virginia. He was in the Navy and then worked for NASA. Pat and Paul had four children, Lori Hollister, Paul Andrew III, Mark and Courtney; and thirteen grandchildren. One grandchild Josh Andrew Folwell preceded Pat in death.
Pat and Paul enjoyed bowling and square dancing. In 1961, Paul moved the family to Texas where he served in the Naval Reserve.
Pat died of heart complications following implanting of a pacemaker in Jan 1988 in Baytown, Texas. She was 55 years, 8 months, 25 days.
