Marinda Kouns Spencer Burger was the daughter of Abraham Kouns (buried in Kentucky at an unknown location) and Sarah (Rice) Kouns, Campbell, Parkinson, Copsey (buried at Lower Lake Cemetery) and the sister of Abraham Rice Kouns (buried at Lower Lake Cemetery) and Frances D.(Campbell) Hale (buried at the Middletown Cemetery).
She married James C. Spencer on April 20, 1858 in Mills County, Iowa, and according to the 1900 Census she had 9 children, but only 2 were living (Mary and Abraham and he died the following year leaving Mary as her only living child).

Mary E. Spencer 1859 - Unknown (but after 1910) she married Lewis Mullins.
