Funeral services for Christine Alexander Robinson will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in Jonesboro, LA under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Officiating will be Brother Terry Mims, Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Monroe, LA and Reverend Paul Watts, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Franklinton, LA.

Christine was born on September 1, 1933 and passed away on September 5, 2011. She was a loving and caring Sibling, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

Preceding her death are brothers: Cleveland, Eunice, Bennett, Herbert and Famous Alexander. Sister: Arma Lee Shackelford.

Christine is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack Warren Robinson Jr. of Jonesboro, LA; sons, Rodney Glen and Peggy Tilley Robinson of Quitman, LA, Darrell and Susan Fontenot Robinson of West Monroe, and Keith and Peggy Embry Robinson of Vicksburg, MS.; grandchildren: (Glen) Christina Leanne Watts of Franklinton, LA, and Michael Glen Robinson of Jonesboro, LA. (Darrell) Tobie Renee Prejean of Ville-Platte, LA, T-SGT David Warren Robinson of Langley AFB, VA, Melinda Kay Robinson of Shreveport, LA, and Lindsey Nicole Wagley of Lafayette, LA.(Keith) Lauren Martin of Mobil, AL and Brittany Anderson of Vicksburg, MS.; great Grandchildren: (13) whom she loved and adored; sisters, Cassie A. Rowe of Blairsville, GA and Mildred Haynes of Baytown TX and many nieces and nephews.

Christine graduated from J-H High School in 1952, and began working for Southern Bell in Ruston, LA and married Airman Jack W. Robinson Jr. on September 5, 1953 and began a life of an Air Force wife for the next 20 years. She taught toddlers in Sunday school during her husband's Military career in LA, AR, OH, TX, MS, MA, Japan and her home Church, McDonald Memorial, and was affectionately known as "Miss Christine."She was a charter member of Southern Baptist Church in Caribou, MA and Groveport, OH where she helped construct the church. She exemplified Christian living at each location where she lived and assisted other military families as needed. While living in Japan, Christine volunteered to assist and comfort U.S. military wounded in Vietnam. Christine was awarded a certificate of appreciation signed by the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force for ber own unselfishness, faithful, devoted service, and unfailing support and understanding that helped to make possible for her husband's contribution to the Nation.

"Mamaw Christine", as she was called by her immediate and extended family, would say "I have fmished the race, I have the Faith, now there is in store for me the Crown of Righteousness". (2 Timothy 4-7).
