After their return to the United States, Ehren and his younger sister grew up in Michigan. Ehren loved winter sports, and excelled in football. He followed in his father's footsteps and joined the Army, becoming a member of the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. After leaving the service, Ehren moved with his family to Florida, then to Texas with his wife.
Ehren was a devoted family man, much loved by his parents, wife, two sons and his daughter. He was a talented craftsman, enjoying creative pursuits. He had a charismatic personality, charming young and old alike.
He is sorely missed.
