US Congressman. Elected to represent New York's 27th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1865 to 1871. Also served as New York State Attorney General from 1880 to 1881, Delegate to the New York State Constitutional Convention in 1890, and State Court Judge from 1891 until his death in 1898.
