OBITUARY: Joseph E. Cobb
Joseph E. Cobb, 64, on Oneada Rd., Chillicothe, died 7:32 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 1996, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a seven-month illness.
He was born May 26, 1932, in Covington, Ky., to J. Marion and Katie M. Ruddell Cobb. On Feb. 9, 1980, he married the former Marjorie Pleasant Armstrong, who survives.
Also surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Debbie Cobb, Tampa, Fla., Joseph E. Jr. and Noelle Cobb, of Thornton, Colo.; daughters, Cheryl Mouroukis, Tampa, Fla., Sue Anne Trijillo, of Arizona; stepdaughter, Tammy Wahl, of St. Augustine, Fla.; a stepson and his wife, Sam and Melissa Armstrong, all of Chillicothe; 15 grandchildren; one sister, Louise Brooks, Chicago, Ill.; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Shirley Cobb, of Dayton; sisters-in-law, Mary W. Cobb, of Kentucky, Karleen Martin, of Frankfort, Laura Mullins, of Lancaster; sister and brother-in-law, Freida and Robert L. Pleasant, of Michigan; and a brother-in-law, Raymond P. Sheffel, of Indiana. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Noble Cobb; a sister-in-law, Grace M. Sheffel; and two brothers-in-law, Chester R. Mullins and John P. Martin.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, was a Radio Shack employee for the past 28 years, holding several positions, including District Manager, and Store Manager in several locations. He had been a Past Master and a 32nd Degree Mason in the Masonic Lodge of Terre Haute, Ind. and a member of the American Legion Post 757.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, in the Ware Funeral Home with Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Brown's Chapel Cemetery, where there will be military graveside services by the Ross County Firing Squad. Pall bearers will be his fellow employees from Radio Shack. Friends may call at Ware's from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday.
