Miss Anderson taught school in Buffalo and was instrumental in the establishment of the Buffalo Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) . She served as secretary of the organization in 1917 and in 1928 she was elected President of the Buffalo NAACP . Miss Anderson was Aunt to the late Ora Louise Anderson Curry (9 Nov. 1920-5 Feb. 2002, first African American teacher at Bennett High School).
