Appreciation of J. C. Hawver by editor W. A. Shepard. - Placer Herald. Long obituary and report of J.C. Hawver's funeral on Sunday last. Funeral at Congregational Church and burial at Odd Fellows Cemetery with Native Sons doing the obsequies. Aged 59 years. Survived by his widow, son Neil, and daughters Mrs. Bryan Wood of Hiawatha, Kansas and Mrs. Leola Chubbick of Lovelock, Nevada.

Dr. J.C. Hawver, dentist, married Wednesday as his second wife Miss M. E. Parsons of Kentfield, CA - she is a sister of Mrs. Wm. Kent, wife of Congressman from First District. Bride "...one of California's noted botanists, and has given names to a number of our native flowers and plants." He very prominent in County and one of "...State's best known scientists." Still a member of Auburn School Board. And his daughter, Mrs. Leola Keeney, married W.E. Chubbuck of Fleish, NV last Sunday at Hawver's home.

I did find a Minnie and George Chubbuck at the Lone Mountain Cemetery. Could be related to W.E. Chubbuck
