Augustine's parents were: William Fowler (1773-1853) and Sarah Wood married on Nov. 23, 1794.
William's parents were: Luther Fowler (1739-) and Anna Woodward married in May, 1762.
Luther's parents were: Jonathan Fowler (1685-1774) and Hannah Pettibone married on July 3, 1734.
Jonathan was the son of Samuel Fowler (1652-1739) and Abigail Brown (1662-) married on Nov. 6, 1683.
Samuel's parents were: Ambrose Fowler (1626-Dalbury, Lees, Derby, England and died on Oct. 18, 1704 in Westfield, Hampden, Mass. and Joanna (Jane) Alvord married on May 6, 1646-Whitestaunton, Somersetshire, England. From book, "ROOTS of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints in SOUTHERN IOWA" by Pearl Wilcox...Lewis Fowler met the Smith Party in Davis City and carried them in his wagon toward the Lamoni settlement. They had not traveled far when they were caught in a heavy rainstorm, and they took shelter for the night in the Fowler home. The morning brought clear skies, and they drove on to the Colony. Page 346.
Lewis' obit is written in the same book on page 347...LEWIS FOWLER and his family had come to live on a farm a few miles from the Colony in 1874. He had married Esther Holcomb, and to this union eleven children were born. Lewis had united with the Reorganized Church in 1865 at Amboy, Illinois (baptised by Elder Phineas Caldwell) and was ordained a priest in 1866. It was on the farm that Esther died in December 1886, survived by eight of their children. In 1890 Lewis married Mrs. Susan Beck who died June 7, 1906. After her death, he was in failing health, and he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Laura Rabidou of Albany, where he died August 25, 1906. The funeral was from the home where he died conducted by F.C. Warnkey of Kansas City. Elder H.A. Stebbins made a brief address and offered prayer at the grave. Mr. Fowler was one of the pioneers in farming the settlement in Decatur County, which culminated in the city of Lamoni. A man of unusual energy, he struggled with the adversities of life bravely, until worn out with labor and disease, and then sank peacefully to rest.
