Bill was born 7 Apr 1915 in London, KY. He served in the US Navy during WWII and settled in Ridgecrest, CA in 1947. He was a painter by trade and worked at China Lake, CA until his retirement in 1973. He left the valley (Indian Wells Valley) a year later.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Allen, and a daughter Ruby Garrett.
He is survived by a daughter, Rita Lane of San Diego, CA; son William Allen of Lodi, CA; daughter Cheryl Hartman of Vancouver, WA; eight grandchildren: Tracey Garrett of Ridgecrest, CA Kristie DeVries of Ridgecrest, CA; Sheilli O'Roke of San Diego, CA; Heather Parrish of San Diego, CA; James Allen of Fresno, CA; Tami Allen of Fresno, CA; Tim Hartman of Vancouver, WA; and Jeff Hartman of Oregon; 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters Elise Conli and Pansy Greene; and a brother Earl Allen.
