She was married to Leslie E. Huddleston on December 4, 1945. She was a military officer's wife who enjoyed many travels especially to Taiwan and Turkey. Leslie preceded her in death on January 16, 1988.
Helen, also known as Geri, loved to read, play bridge, sew and she especially enjoyed attending the theater where she would often see her daughter, Susan, granddaughter, Thumper and Son in Law, Gary, perform. Among her activities she truly loved duplicate bridge earning many master points. She was a member of the ACBL (American Contract Bridge League). She also was a member of the Officer Wives Club.
She and her husband, Les, owned and operated the Killeen Duplicate Bridge Club for many years. For several tears prior to her death she enjoyed living with her daughter's family at the Chinese Mansion in Temple, Texas.
Other than her beloved husband, Les, Geri was preceded in death by one son Michael. She is survived by three sisters, two sons, Leslie Gilbert Huddleston and his wife Ann of Crane, Missouri, Scott Gregory Huddleston and his wife, Donna, of Killeen, Texas, and one daughter, Susan Huddleston Gosney and her husband Gary of Temple, Texas. She also has four grandchildren, Perry Huddleston of Carthage, Missouri, Lori Swafford of Carthage, Missouri, Jon Michael Huddleston of Killeen, Texas and Leslie Taylor (Thumper) Gosney of Temple, Texas. She is further survived by eleven great grandchildren.
