John Huston Alexander, along with his daughter-in-law Mabel Irene Marrs Alexander and her two sons, Marrs Walter Alexander and James Oscar Alexander died in a tornado that hit Bates County, Missouri on June 15, 1912. John H. Alexander died the next day. A total of 25 died from that event.
note:
The two eldest children, Rufus and Sarah A. Alexander were not mentioned in the 1900 Federal census records with the rest of the family.
