Julia Ruth Massey Babb, born in Fort Worth, Texas, on the 25th of February 1919, passed away on the 20th of August 2011. She graduated from Paschal High in Fort Worth, attended Mary Hardin-Baylor College in Belton, Texas and Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She married George Erwin Babb on the 12th of July 1947 at North Fort Worth Baptist Church. They moved to Houston with their three children in 1959, from which George traveled, building Cassavant organs.

In 1963, Judy became the second staff member hired by Dr. Troy Womack at the new Houston Baptist College, where she worked for Ken Rogers as the Associate Director of Financial Aid, retiring as secretary to Chancellor Dr. W. H. Hinton in 1991.

Judy is predeceased by her husband George, daughter Rebecca, and son Richard. Survivors include her sister, Mary Massey Morgan of Austin, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Lloyd Noack of Fallbrook, California; son-in-law, Michael Blansett of Sugar Land, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Karen Babb of Houston, Texas. Grandchildren: Travis Aldridge of Fallbrook, CA; Nathan Blansett and Sarah Blansett of Sugar Land, TX; Jeremy and wife Joanna Blansett of Tomball, TX; Ryan Babb of Houston, TX, and Emily Babb of Austin, TX. Great-granddaughters: Jeorgia and Joy Blansett of Tomball. Her memory will be treasured by her special friend, Dr. Ben Welch of College Station, Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews across the country also survive her.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to Dr. Isabel Martinez and Marilyn Herdrich (Visiting Physicians Association); Rod Hardman and Kimber Williams (Christian Companion Senior Care); Ann VanSant, Allison Brown, Libbie Vaughan, and Lowell Whited (Silverado Hospice).

The funeral service is to be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 27th of August, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where Judy's former HBU colleagues, Dr. R.L. Hatchett and Dr. Don Looser, are to officiate. Prior to the service, during the ten o'clock hour, the family will receive friends and share remembrances of Judy.

The interment service is to be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning on Monday, the 29th of August, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 2301 N. Sylvania Avenue in Fort Worth, where Dr. H. B. Fuller is to officiate.
