Louise Elizabeth Dasher Blume, 94, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her beloved family on March 22, 2011. Louise retired in 1980 as Executive Housekeeper of Suwannee County Hospital. She devoted her retirement years to her church, her family, fishing, traveling and gardening. All who knew her will remember her as a devoted Christian woman who loved her Lord. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Central. Louise was born in Lowndes County, Georgia to Lena and Tallie Dasher, moving to Suwannee County when she was a baby and graduating from Suwannee County High School in the class of 1936. She married James Victor Blume in that same year. They settled in Perry, Florida and had five children, Mary Ann Blume Lloyd of Mayo, Elizabeth Dawson (Bill) of Orlando, Madelaine Burkhalter of Live Oak, James Blume Jr. (Marla) of Perry, and Charles Blume (Susan) of Chattahoochee. Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James Victor Blume Sr., two brothers T. I. Dasher and Orville Dasher, a sister, Doris Johnson and two grandsons, John Royce Thompson and Jon Martin Blume. She is survived by her brother, Waldo Dasher of Palatka, and her sisters, Orilla Sieg of Jacksonvile, Ina Mae Boggus of Live Oak, and Wylene Collins of Ocala. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Toni Ryder, Kristi Harrell (Steve), Bruce Burkhalter (Anita), Jim Blume (Mandy), Amy McClain (Guy), Bill Dawson Jr. (Kim), Andy Burkhalter (Tamlyn), Rick Dawson, Jill Blume, Jason Blume (Lori), Drue Bennett (Chris) and Dawn Gunter (Daryll). She was thrilled to welcome each of her 20 great grandchildren who will miss her gardening and fishing lessons. She also had a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will all miss her dearly.Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 25, 2011 at Daniels Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
