Todd S. Tjaden, 60, of DeWitt, Iowa, died early Saturday morning, November 13, 2010, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Davenport.

Todd was born June 1, 1950, in Clinton, Iowa, to Dale and Ruth Bormann Tjaden.

He was a 1968 graduate of Central Community High School, DeWitt. Todd received a Bachelor and Master of Arts in Theatre from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. He went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of New Orleans. Todd married Julie Artman on May 19, 1976, in Las Vegas.

Todd was a talented actor, playwright, director and teacher, and made his home where his craft took him — such places included Missoula, Montana, New York and Los Angeles. Todd was excellent at what he did, and had a passion for the arts. He was a free spirit and as he often referred to himself as a "schmoozer."

Todd was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Cleveland Indian and Washington Redskin fan. He loved to run, bicycle and ride motorcycles.

Preceding Todd in death were his parents and grandparents.
