Great Grand Mother Sarah
No known photos of Sarah or not much personal history.
Sarah may have been from the Hartford, N.Y. area moved to Granville to B proven 1/3/12
Sarah was to have been fair of skin and redish hair, her
coloring was like Aunt Annamae & Vernon Cooper her grand children.

Photo at the right is of the Cooper home at 433 Allanson Road, Diamond Lake, Illinois

1880 Census: Sarah was born in NY her Father Born Ireland Mc Cue and her Mother born in N.Y. Maybe Granville ?

Every census record that was read their ages were different.
So sad...very hard on tracking the right person,
when you go back to Europe it is really hard if you don't have the right birth date. :-(

Hear say: Sarah's parents were to be Scotch Irish.
Aunt Helene, Uncle Ralph and more. MENTIONED that the Mc Cue's were Scotch Irish, were they both Scotch Irish OR was one Irish and the other Scotch LOL.? ?1900 census
reads....Sarah's mother born in New York and her father
born in Ireland.

Father: Mc Cue
Mother: name unknown
Siblings: unknown

Husband: Charles H.Cooper from Lincolnshire, England /Granville,Washington County N.Y.and Diamond Lake, Il.
Charles was at least 5 or 6 years older (I think) She was 15 or 16 when she( Sarah) had her first child. But of course we never got his or her correct birth year, so maybe that is off a bit.
Their children:
Children: Franklin Cooper 1855, Granville, Washington Cty.N.Y.
Charles E. 1856, N.Y. "
George E. 1858, N.Y "
Abraham Lincoln Cooper, 1862 N.Y. "

Arline (Nettie) 1863, Diamond Lake, Il.
Norman (Henry) 1869 Diamond Lake, Il. Libertyville Township
Sophia (Minnie) 1872, Diamond Lk. Il.

1860 Census reads...Sarah A. Cooper, 23 yrs old, Birth Place N.Y., Home Granville, N.Y., Charles H. 29 yrs. , Sarah A, 23 years old, Charles E.4 yrs. & George F. 2 years old. Post Office South Granville, N.Y. end

1900 census record reads..Sarah 61 years old, living with daughter Sophia (Ely) Cooper and her two children in a rented home.. Sophia(Cooper) Elye, widowed. Children: Blanche Elye or Ely 6 yrs.old and Ralph Ely 4 yrs old
in Winfield, West Chicago Village, Dupage County.
Year of marriage: 1865
How meny years married: 35 (Sarah speaking)
This would mean that they waited to get married until they got to Libertyville, Illinois. UPDATE 4/2009 no record of their marriage in Libertyville,. Illinois. They may have had a Parlor Marriage then there may not be any record unless the ceremony was performed by a priest or a minister.
Lot of churches in Libertyville, maybe 6 really old ones.
There may have been a Fr. Lawler connected with the family.
I think I saw that name on Charles's obit;.

When Sarah left the home in Diamond Lake to live with daughter Sofia( Minnie) and her children...she never returned.
Did not find Sarah after 1900 census.Checked the 1910, 1920 & 1930..no Sarah :-( Do not know her resting place. Lets hope one day our cemeteries will all get together and publish our names so that we can find our loved ones.Irish Blessing

May the roads rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the sunshine warm your face And until we meet, May God hold you in the palm of His hand
