Ronald Lee Aughinbaugh, of Fairfield, died August 14, 2011, surrounded by his beloved wife and daughter.

He was born July 2, 1944 in Washington Township, Franklin County, son of the late Howard and Catherine (Woodring) Aughinbaugh.

Ronald had worked for 20 years for the former Sylvania Shoe Co. in Greencastle and McSherrystown and later for 13 years for Beck Manufacturing in Greencastle, before his retirement in 2000.

He loved spending time with his family and was dedicated to his wife, daughter and grandchildren.

Ronald enjoyed working on cars and was always helping friends with work on their cars.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary (Shultz) Aughinbaugh; his daughter, Tammy L. Signor and husband David; two grandchildren, William and Christina Signor of Gettysburg; three brothers, Ray Aughinbaugh of Fairfield, Gary and Richard Aughinbaugh, both of Waynesboro; two sisters, Rosalie Emory of Waynesboro and Elizabeth Mackentire of York. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Ronald was predeceased by two brothers, Franklin and Danny Aughinbaugh, a sister, Frances Recard, and his infant sister, Shirley.


Funeral services will be held, August 17, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Monahan Funeral Home, Fairfield, with the Rev. Terry Hoke officiating. Interment will be in Fairfield Union Cemetery.
