It is unclear who he is the child of. He appears on the 1900 census as the head of the house with three women who are identified as Aunts: Olive Amos, Mary A. Amos, and Maude (Amanda) Amos. These ladies had two older brothers who were both killed in the War of Yankee Aggression, so neither of these men could have fathered William. That leaves two other brothers, Henry Amos and William Amos. I am inclined to believe he is the son of William Amos and Missouri Thomas Amos, but I cannot find them on the 1870 census to confirm it.
