Hopkins Died on Tuesday ," (Greencastle) The Greencastle Banner Graphic, 6 May 1958, p. 1, col. 2.; Mrs. Hattie Ellen Hopkins, 81, passed away early Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jewel Page, east of Roachdale. Mrs. Hopkins was born Dec. 8, 1876 in Illinois the daughter of James C. and Sarah Chapman Ogden. On July 23, 1901 she married Ernest Hopkins. She was a member of Barnard Baptist church. Survivors are the husband Ernest, six children, Raymond, Ladoga R.R; Ada Mae Stewart, Lela Page, both of Roachdale, Della Head, Jamestown; Ethel Frazier, Greencastle R. 1; Carlos of Wallace; two sisters, Mrs. May Woodworth, Greencastle, Mrs. Stella Burt, Terre Haute; four brothers, Charles Ogden, Pittboro, Ralph and Frank of Illinois; Floyd of Terre Haute. Two infant choldren preceded her in death. Funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon with internment in Roachdale cemetery.
