Rodell Ira Berry, age 47, North 10th Street, East Gadsden, passed away Thursday morning after a sudden illness. He is survived by his wife, Lois Groves Berry; two sons, Melvin L. and Thomas Berry, Gadsden; two daughters, Kaye and Janet Berry, Gadsden; mother, Mrs. Alma Hawkins, Gadsden; two half-brothers, Patrick and Max Hawkins, Detroit, Michigan; two step-brothers and three step-sisters. Funeral service Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel Sunday 2 p.m. Interment Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. He was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County. He was a member of East Gadsden Baptist Church, Ed Christopher Lodge 904 F&AM, veteran of World War II and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. with 18 years employment. Masons will have charge at the graveside rites.
