Randall John Miller was born to John George "Tony" Miller and Lois Arlene (O'Brien) Miller in Wauseon, Fulton County, Ohio. He attended school in Pike Township School through the eighth grade. He then went to Wauseon High School. He helped his Dad farm. He loved the outdoors. We first met before high school in 1962. I knew at first glance that I would marry him someday. Many people don't believe in love at first sight, but it is real for some of us. It's not something that can be explained either.
We dated others until our senior year and then we got together and started going steady on our first date.
We married on Oct 15, 1965. He was a construction worker and, among other places, worked on the Fulton County Health Center, the Enrico Fermi power plant in Monroe, MI and Michigan International Speedway. At the time of his death, he was digging ponds and doing earth moving. We owned our own equipment and I ran the bulldozer when necessary. He died doing what he loved to do. He enjoyed working on cars, snowmobiling, animals and talking to anyone.
He was a gentle soul, friendly & very intelligent. He is still the love of my life and always will be.

Our Summer of 1964: "You can't force chemistry to exist where it doesn't in the same way you can't deny it when it does."

As an interesting side note, while doing genealogy, I discovered that Randy is the 5th cousin of John Uhler (Jack) Lemmon III, the actor. Their g-g-g-grandparents were siblings. His g-g-grandfather, Daniel Miller married Marie Louisa Lemmon.

Here is a quote from cousin Jack: "Death ends a life, not a relationship".

❤ "For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul." ~ Judy Garland

I Never Got to Say Goodbye
Wish I could go back to the day
When angels came and took you away.
I wanted to hold your hand so tight
Kiss you gently and say goodnight.
And then just before you had to go
I would tell you how much I love you so.
I didn't know how I don't know why
I never got the chance to say goodbye.
By John F Connor

Remember Me
Don't remember me with sadness,
Don't remember me with tears,
Remember all the laughter,
We shared throughout the years.
Now I am contented
That my life it was worthwhile,
Knowing that I passed along the way
I made somebody smile.
When you are walking down the street
And you've got me on your mind,
I'm walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.
So please don't be unhappy
Just because I'm out of sight,
Remember that I'm with you
Each morning, noon and night.

Prayer
Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.

Whatever we were to each other,
that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as you always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
1910 Sermon by Oxford Theologian Henry Scott Holland. It has evolved to a funeral prayer.

DON'T CRY FOR ME
Don't cry for me now I have died, for I'm still here
I'm by your side. My body's gone but my soul's still here, please don't shed another tear.
I am still here, I'm all around, only body lies in the ground.
I am the snowflake that kisses your nose.
I am the frost that nips your toes.
I am the sun bringing you light, I am the star, shining so bright.
I am the rain, refreshing the earth.
I am the laughter, I am the mirth, I am the bird up in the sky. I am the cloud that's drifting by.
I am the thoughts inside your head.
While I'm still here, I can't be dead.
