US Congressman. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 1925 and the Temple University School of Law in 1931, he was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Philadelphia. He was elected to the United States Congress from Pennsylvania and served from 1939 to 1947. He retired as a Colonel in the United States Air Force in 1962.
