Fred L. Bowden, age 87, of Palm Springs and Temecula, beloved husband, friend, grandfather and stepfather, passed away July 4, 2011, after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his only son, Derald. He is survived by his wife, Brigitta; his beloved dog, Max; granddaughter, Kimberly; stepchildren, Dan Heires (Beth), Steve Heires (Mary Lou), Nicole Fierst (Sean) and Audrie Miller (John); eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Prior to moving to Temecula, he resided in Palm Springs for many years where he enjoyed playing golf with his many friends. Fred was a kind and gentle man with a great sense of humor. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be missed forever. Fred served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and will be interred at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. A celebration of his life will take place in Palm Springs at a later date.
