Services Held For Mrs. Edward Allen Here Last Thurs

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Edward Allen at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Wolbach at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 1950. Rev. O. K. Oelke officiated.

Pallbearers were six grandsons: Clarence Allen, Arnold Allen, Howard Allen, Cy Nagorski, John Berney and Raymond Janc.

Flowergirls were six granddaughters: Minnie Nagorski, Verla Weiser, Effie Janc, Betty Allen and Frances Berney.

Hymns for the service were: "Beyond The Sunset", "Old Rugged Cross" and "Good Night and Good Morning".

Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Waverly, Nebraska.

Obituary - Ellen Amanda Beckman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Beckman was born September 18, 1887 at Davey, Nebraska and passed away September 26, 1950 at the St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island at the age of 63 years and 8 days.

She was baptized as a child at Davey and became a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church at Wolbach in 1937.

She was united in marriage to Edward Allen April 10, 1906 at Davey. To this union eight children were born. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jack at home and Albert of Wolbach; three daughters, Mrs. Wayne Gillham and Mrs. Franklin Hoss of Grand Island and Lois at home; two step sons, Wm. of St. Paul and Ervin of Wolbach; three sisters, Mrs. Ed Foreman of Waverly, Mrs. Carl Warner of Lincoln and Mrs. C. J. Connor of Brush, Colorado; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, a daughter Grace and a son Earl, her mother and father, two sisters and two brothers.


She was a kind and loving wife and mother. Her thoughts came for others first. She was a faithful member of her church and her wonderful personality will make her remembered by all who knew her.
