Mrs. J.B. Bell died at her home in this city (Girard) Sunday, May 24, at the age of 69 years, 4 months, and 18 days, after an illness continuing through several weeks. Mrs. Bell whose maiden name was Martha E. Wadlow, was born in Marion county Illinois, January 6, 1845. At the age of five years she moved with her parents to Missouri. She was united in marriage to Rufus Alexander in 1867 and to this union there were born two daughters and one son, namely: Mrs. D.J. Hardy, of Muskogee, Okla; Mrs. C.A. Gasman, of Piedmont, Mo., and Dike Alexander, of Arington, Mo. After the death of her first husband she was united in marriage to J. B. Bell in 1900, and in 1910 removed with him to Girard, where she resided until her death. At an early age Mrs. Bell united with the Batpist church. She was also a member of Girard Lodge No. 518 Maida Rebekah, which order with the visiting delegates of this district which held their annual assembly here yesterday attended the funeral services in a body and conducted the last rites at the grave. The funeral servies were held at the Baptist Church at four o'clock Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. W. Cliffe. Interment was made in Girard cemetery. She is survived by her husband, the three children already named, also one brother, W.C. Wadlow of Sabulo, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. William Kelly of Annapolis, Mo.
