Pauline Ledford Austin, age 94, of Blankenship Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 16th, 2011 at her home. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Stokes and Bessie Lee Blankenship Ledford. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Miller Ledford. Pauline was a homemaker, wonderful cook and she loved and cherished her family. She was also a member of Prices Creek Union Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons: Bobby Austin and wife, Bea Brewer Austin of Marion, Burl Austin and wife, Cathy of Burnsville and Stokes Austin and wife, Polly of Burnsville. Six Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services for Pauline will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. The Reverend Rick Bennett will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20th in the Blankenship Cemetery.
