Rita Lea Lutman, age 81, of Berkeley Springs, WV, died August 28, 2017 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.

Born April 14, 1936 in Morgan County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Edward Garrison and Lillie Pauline Culp Rankin.

Rita was a member of the Berkeley Springs Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School. She had worked for Bowman’s Retail Store and London Fog Manufacturing. Rita enjoyed taking walks, short car rides, playing cards and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rita is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Diane Byrne and Tina Lynn Harvey both of Berkeley Springs, one sister, LeEsta Koontz of Berkeley Springs, five grandchildren, Kristy Divelbliss of Martinsburg, WV, Marti Lynn Harvey of Winchester, VA, Martin Wayne Harvey of Needmore, PA, Zack Byrne and Sam Byrne both of Berkeley Springs, WV, three great grandchildren, Ruthie Lea Harvey of Needmore, PA, Gracelyn Faith Byrne and Isaac Ryder Byrne both of Berkeley Springs, WV and one great granddaughter due in the fall. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Wayne Lutman on February 3, 1999, three brothers, Carl Rankin, Vernon Rankin and James Starliper.

Friends will be received on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Berkeley Springs Church of Christ 290 S Green Street, Berkeley Springs from 2-4 p.m. with services at 4 p.m. with Van Sprague Minister officiating. Burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads.
