Henry Lehr, 78, died Saturday at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was a retired farmer and lived in this area since 1965. Mr. Lehr was born, April 20, 1904, in Hillsview, SD, and farmed in South Dakota most of his early life. For nearly 20 years, he managed a grain elevator in Stratford, SD, before he moved to Aberdeen, SD in 1962 and operated a gasoline station. On April 3, 1940, he married Edwina Sapp in Rapid City, SD. His hobbies include fishing, hunting and bowling. In addition to his wife, Mr. Lehr is survived by two daughters, Shirley Gabel of Silverdale and Judith Vance of Port Orchard; four sons, Donald of Aberdeen, Lyman of Fort Dodge, IA, and DeForest and Kenneth of Minneapolis, MN; a brother, Emanuel of Roscoe, SD; and a sister, Pauline Gramm of Hosmer, SD. Funeral services will be held Thursday at Miller Woodlawn Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Miller Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family has requested that memorials be sent to Memorial Lutheran Church, Bremerton, or to the American Cancer Society, in care of Esther Muller, Bremerton, Washington.

First marriage to Carol (Alcorn) Brown #82196477, 25 Jun 1927, Edmunds County, South Dakota. They are the parents of four sons, Donald Lehr, Lyman Lehr, Deforest Lehr and Kenneth Lehr. His second marriage was to Edwina Sapp on April 3, 1940. They are the parents of two daughters, Shirley Lehr, Mrs. Jack Gabel (1942-2014) and Judith (Lehr) Mann.
