Etha "Dee" Durnell
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. August 29 in the Lunn Funeral Home for Etha "Dee" Durnell, 93, Olney, who died August 27 in a local nursing home.
Rev. Greg Johnson, the pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated. Burial followed in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of the Lunn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Durnell was born February 11, 1905, in Granite, Oklahoma, to the late Guy M. and Alice(Hughes) Knipe. She and Jack Durnell married January 5, 1941, in Salinas, California. He died July 5, 1964.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Sorosis Club. She was a retired practical nurse, and had been a resident of Olney since 1989, moving from Vernon.
Survivors include a son, James Lynch, Oklahoma City; three sisters, Leona Garner, Vernon, Iona Farmer, Livingston, and Edith Jackson, Olney; brother, J.B. Knipe, Ratliff City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
