Obituary
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2009 at a 10:30 AM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Genevieve Guidry Duhon, 88, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at her son's residence in Youngsville.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Garden Cemetery in Lafayette.
Reverend Curtis Mallet, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will officiate the services. Lectors will be Amy Earles, Shayla Duhon and Angie Johnson. Valerie Andrus, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "How Great Thou Art", "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "Amazing Grace".

Survivors include two sons, Douglas Duhon and his wife, Rose and Marcus Duhon and his wife, Angela; four grandchildren, Angie D. Johnson and her husband, Jeff, Shayla Duhon, Ryan Duhon and Amy Earles and her husband, Russell; five step grandchildren, Seth and Danny Landry, Erin Dustin, Dustin Besse and Dana Holman; two great grandchildren, Aiden Landry and Elyse Johnson; and one sister, Mello G. Castille.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rex Duhon; her parents, Arthur Guidry and Pauline Landry Guidry; and her siblings, Isabelle, Rene, Able, Madel, Beulah, Paul, Georgiana, Jerome and Alcide.

A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, Mrs. Duhon was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of the St. Genevieve Catholic Church Community, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. S

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Pallbearers will be John Mouton, Seth Landry, Mike Holman, Jeff Johnson, Ryan Duhon and Russell Earles.
