TIMOTHY von STERNBERG, age 60, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2004, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Tim was born on May 20, 1944 in Philadelphia and moved to Houston in 1948. He graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1962 and from the University of Houston in 1973 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1968 with the rank of sergeant. He attended St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Tim was an avid camper, outdoorsman, hiker, cyclist, and bowler. He will always be remembered for his gentle nature and sense of humor. He is survived by his daughter, Andrea von Sternberg; life partner, Cathy Norton; parents, Jerry & Harriet von Sternberg; siblings, Sandy Hochman, Kirk von Sternberg, Craig von Sternberg, Jill Coleman, Rusty von Sternberg, Jerry Christopher von Sternberg, and their spouses and children. A service will be held in the VA Chapel at the Houston National Cemetery on Wed., Aug. 4, at 12:00 PM with viewing immediately before.
