Ruth was born Feb. 17, 1910, in Rochelle, daughter of the late William F. and Minnie Oesterheld. She worked for Carney's Clothing Store for 25 years as a seamstress.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard and William Oesterheld.
She is survived by her nephew, Rodger Oesterheld, of Byron; one grandniece, Jenni Whitley; and two grand nephews, Jeff and Jon Oesterheld, of Rockford.
A private graveside service was held March 12, at Lawnridge Cemetery, with Rev. Steve Dow officiating.
