She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Anthony Ashton Sr., 83, St. Augustine, died Jan. 8, 2002, at Flagler Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of St. Augustine, and he was a sheet metal foreman. He had worked for DuPont Steel Buildings and for the Florida East Coast Railway. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II, and he was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church. He also held membership in the Elks Lodge and the St. Augustine Boating Club.
