The funeral services of Edward A. Cleland were held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at his home on Norfolk avenue, conducted by Rev. James D. Paxton. Mrs. James Owen Watts sang, "Some Day Wel'' Understnad," and a quartet composed of Mrs. Watts, Miss Susie Horner, Dan Walker and Jack Spradlin, sang "Abide With Me" at the home, and "Peace, Perfect Peace" at the grave.
The active pallbearers were: A. P. Montague, G. E. Vaughan, R. L. Smith, A. C. Cheatham, Langhorne Lewis and John D. Harvey.
The honorary pallbearers were: N. C. Manson , Jr., Dr. A. W. Terrell, Dr. John W. Dillard, C. M. Roberts, S. O. Fisher and W. D. Diuguid.
The flowerbearers were: Richard Cleland, Robert P. Adans, Robert Lavinder, Gibston McGhee, George Snead, Charles Hicks, C. H. Almond, Jr., and Thomas Hurley.
The interment was at Spring Hill Cemetery.
