OBITUARY

Dorothy M. Brown, 73, of 1108 West 11th, died Friday night (March 3, 1989) in Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Brown was born December 24, 1915 in Van Buren, Arkansas to George and Mable Harvey. She grew up in the Van Buren and Fort Smith, Arkansas areas where she attended school.

She married Jessie D. Brown in Bentonville, Arkansas. They made their home in Coffeyville where Mr. Brown worked for the Junge Baking Co. and later for the City of Coffeyville.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and member of the Central Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include: Her husband; three daughters, Jo Frances Miller of Fort Smith, AR, Linda Clark of Carlsbad, NM, and Carolyn Wulf of Coffeyville, KS; three stepdaughters, Neta Freeman of Washington, Elaine Blake of Willard, MO, and Sue Crawford of Marshfield, MO; a stepson, Dan Brown of Carthage, MO; two sisters, Anna Lee Dixon of Florida and Betty Yancey of Fort Smith, AR; three brothers, Raymond Harvey of Fort Smith, AR, Lawrence Harvey of Harrisonville, AR, and Glen Harvey of Andersonville, TN; 23 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Graves Funeral Home Chapel, Coffeyville, with burial in Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney.

Dorothy married Paul Ray Dempsey on March 2, 1936 in Van Buren, Arkansas.
Daughter Jo Frances was born of this marriage in December 1936.
They were divorced on April 6, 1944.
